Stepping up digital efficiency at ECT terminal
An increasing number of shipping companies, terminals and nautical service providers are sharing real-time information via the port of Rotterdam’s Pronto digital platform.
During a pilot project, the site, a "single point of truth" for information, already improved processes at the ECT Delta terminal. Utilisation of the facility’s quay improved, ships were moored in tight time windows and downtimes were reduced during departures. On top of that, the information exchange between participants is much faster.
The container shipping company MSC has been using Pronto for some time. The downtime for ships departing from the Delta terminal fell from 19 to 12 minutes, and mooring efficiency rose from 91% to 95%. (kd)
