SMB International builds warehouse for medical products
SMB International is building a new compact warehouse in Bad Oldesloe (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany) for the clinic group Asklepius in order to ensure reliable supplies of medical products and equipment. SMB intends to set up a fully automated central warehouse on 65,000 sqm by the end of 2021. The new hub will be equipped with the latest technology.
The facility will be used to deliver medical goods to around 160 Asklepios clinics in Germany and, if required, to external entities as well. The new compact warehouse will have 20,000 pallet spaces for thousands of different medical products.
"Thanks to our modern compact warehouse technology and a fully automatic conveyor system, we can easily cover all quantity requirements from container loads and cross docking to the smallest parcel," says Hans-Joerg Steffens, sales director at SMB International. (mw)
