Singapore sends hot signals to the cargo world

Today, 9 November 2020, Singapore Airlines (SIA) makes its return to New York, when it launches nonstop flights to JFK. Operating to JFK (instead of ERW, which was served before the pandemic restrictions) with Airbus A350-900s will allow SIA to better accommodate a mix of PAX and cargo traffic in the current operating climate.

The airline anticipates significant demand from a range of industries based in the New York metro area, including pharma, e-commerce and technology firms. The new service will provide the only nonstop air cargo link from northeastern USA to Singapore, a regional distribution hub for many major US companies.

On the cool front, SIA Cargo is now Envirotainer QEP accredited at its stations in AMS, BSL, BRU, ZRH, AKL, BLR, BOM, KIX, MEL, SYD as well as SIN, and added Brisbane and Melbourne to its growing 'Thrucool' network. (ah)
