Simon Oberbeck to take the helm

At its November meeting, the SVS executive board elected Simon Oberbeck as the new managing director of the shipping association.

Oberbeck succeeds André Auderset, who is stepping down for reasons of age, and will take up his role on 1 August 2024. Oberbeck prevailed against several applicants in an open procedure. He currently leads the "communication and politics" unit at the Swiss Rhine Ports (SRH). Oberbeck will head the SVS office from next August.

The SVS is the trade association for Swiss shipping between the seaports and Basel and represents the logistics companies based in the ports of Basel, Muttenz and Birsfelden. (cj)
