Siberian rail operator orders additional fleet of cars
Russian freight car manufacturer United Wagon Company (UWC) will deliver a batch of freight cars running on 25 t axle load bogies to the Sibirsky Krai transport company. Thirty model 12-9853 gondola cars with unloading hatches and five model 11-6874 box cars will be shipped to the operator by the end of Q1/2020.
The gondola car’s increased body volume of 92 cbm makes it possible to transport freight with a wide range of densities, making full use of the loading capacity of up to 75 t.
This car can be loaded with 10% more freight than a standard car. UWC previously supplied Sibirsky Krai’s fleet with 80 flat cars for transporting timber as well as ten box cars. (ben)
