Shipnext receives grant for supply chain AI
Shipnext, an online cargo platform, has secured a substantial, multi-year grant from Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship (Vlaio) to advance the use of predictive analytics and AI in the supply chain.
Shipnext will develop a supply chain volatility forecast to help users anticipate transport costs and demand for shipping assets weeks in advance. The project will employ natural language processing, machine learning, big-data analysis, and predictive analytics, initially focussing on commodities such as steel, coal, chemicals, and agricultural products.
Shipnext aims to create a highly accurate forecast of freight market volatility and thus make supply chains more sustainable. (pb)
