Shift to electric city logistics continues
Transgourmet, a subsidiary of the Swiss retailer Coop, has put two new e-trucks into operation in Schlieren near Zurich. With Renault’s two D Wide E-Tech trucks, Transgourmet is taking a further step in the conversion of its city logistics to battery power.
Transgourmet employs around 2,100 people in Switzerland and operates 31 Prodega pick-up markets in addition to ten regional warehouses for deliveries to major customers. The e-trucks are used for deliveries to major customers.
Transgourmet is the first Swiss company to acquire the 4x2 version of the D Wide E-Tech truck. According to Renault, only the 6x2 version has been in use in Switzerland so far. (ben)
