Shenzhen - Vancouver without Tianjin stop
Today (28 January 2019), Hainan Airlines, a private Chinese carrier, is launching a non-stop service between Shenzhen and Vancouver, eliminating the Tianjin stopover of the service it inaugurated in May 2018. The twice weekly B787-9 service is the first non-stop route connecting Hainan's Pearl River delta hub and a city in Canada.
Hainan Airlines now operates non-stop services from Shenzhen to Auckland, Brisbane, Brussels, Cairns, Madrid, Paris, Vienna and Zurich. The carrier's destinations in North America include Boston, Calgary, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Mexico City, New York, San Jose, Seattle, Tijuana and Toronto.
The airline will commence a direct Dublin - Shenzhen service on 25 February. In June 2018, the company introduced a link between Beijing and the Irish capital with a stopover in Edinburgh (UK). (ah)
