Seko snaps up Bansard

It is the company's biggest catch so far: Seko Logistics has acquired Paris-headquartered transportation and logistics group Bansard International. The company said in a press release that it "is embarking on the latest stage of its global expansion strategy with the support of its equity investor, Ridgemont Equity Partners" which has been on board since December 2020.

Bansard International, founded in 1963, has built up 54 offices in 17 countries to date. With about 600 employees, the group achieved a turnover of about EUR 210 million in 2020. Its clients come from the retail/fashion industry, but also the electronics, industrial, aerospace and pharmaceutical sectors, among others.

Simon Pinto, president of Bansard, will continue to lead the previously family-owned company. He will also retain his personal investments in the combined business.

Seko will benefit from Bansard’s Asia-Europe inbound air and ocean freight volumes, while Bansard now has easier access to the markets in UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and Denmark. (sh)
