Sealogis with wind in its sails
Zéphyr & Borée, a French start-up and a specialist for wind-powered and low-carbon maritime transport, has chosen Sealogis, a subsidiary of Geodis, as its shipping agent for France.
The start-up designs sail-powered cargo ships. This technological innovation will help reduce emissions in the sea freight sector. As its agent, Sealogis will also promote Zéphyr & Borée’s services to its customer base of shippers and forwarders.
The shipping company, based in Lorient in Brittany, will launch a container shipping service operating transatlantic routes, starting in 2025. The wind-powered vessels will operate a weekly service between Le Havre, Antwerp and the East Coast of USA, along with an equivalent service sailing from Mediterranean ports. (sh)
