Schmitz Cargobull appoints Günter Schweitzer
Schmitz Cargobull's supervisory board has appointed elected Günter Schweitzer as additional new member of the management board responsible for purchasing & logistics, supply chain & management of the production site network.
Schweitzer studied metallurgy and material technology and gained his PhD in production systems. In addition to taking his degree at RWTH Aachen, he was employed at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology.
From there, his professional career took him to GKN Sinter Metals in Germany and then to Hilti, where he assumed various roles including executive vice president supply chain management und executive vice president for global manufacturing at Hilti Schaan (Liechtenstein). Most recently, Schweitzer was employed as divisional manager and COO at Körber from 2013 to 2021. (cj)
