Schenker sold to DSV

DSV is taking over DB Schenker in a EUR 14.3 billion deal with the Deutsche Bahn. This sale is the largest transaction in DB’s history, as its strong logistics team will now be integrated into DSV’s organisation.

With plans to invest and expand in Germany within the next five years, DSV is looking to strengthen its logistics and transport network in the country while also moving into digital and sustainable solutions.

Together, DSV and Schenker are expected to generate a pro forma revenue of around EUR 39.3 billion. Their combined network will span 90 countries with 147,000 employees in total. DSV has issued social undertakings to retain Schenker employees in Germany.

After the deal is closed – set for Q2 of next year – the companies will bring their operations together to form a strong logistics network based in Germany. (mk)
