Road services consistently positive
The German-based Geis Group closed the past year with a new sales record: The global logistics service provider achieved net sales of EUR 1.335 billion in 2022, up 14.5% compared to 2021. All in all, the Geis Group employs around 6,600 people at 125 locations in seven European countries.
The road services business segment showed a consistently positive development throughout the year. With its land transport activities, Geis recorded a significant upswing in turnover of 15.3%. Despite cost increases and staff shortages in the contract logistics industry, the logistics services business division also delivered a good performance with a 16.3% uptick in turnover.
The Geis Group posted good growth rates in the handling of air and sea freight worldwide and the project business as well, with turnover rising by 9.7%.
Despite the positive development in 2022, the Geis Group expects turnover to fall in the current year against the backdrop of significantly declining rates since Q4/2022. The group is also planning massive investments in the expansion of green logistics. (ben)
