Rhenus puts four LNG trucks into operation
Rhenus and its customer Evonik are banking on sustainable transport operations: for transport services in Germany, notably between Evonik’s production site in Essen and the haulier’s logistics warehouse in Düsseldorf, Rhenus recently introduced four Iveco trucks powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The LNG trucks are particularly deployed for the night trips that used to be handled by conventional diesel vehicles in the past, Rhenus explained. The vehicles will also provide daily shuttle services between the Rhenus logistics sites in Düsseldorf and Hilden. The German haulier will continue investing in its LNG fleet – it has already ordered two more vehicles. (ben)
