Rhenus Group: acquisitions in Latin America
Rhenus Group is further expanding its presence in the Latin America (Latam) market. The company has announced its acquisition of Colombia-based BLU Logistics and a majority shareholding of LBH Group.
Rhenus Group has established operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico. The acquisitions have increased the group’s coverage including BLU Logistics' presence in Uruguay, Paraguay, and Ecuador, as well as port agency services.
This expansion supports Rhenus’ position in the Asia-Latam corridor and enables BLU to extend its reach to European and Indian trade lanes.
Rhenus is taking over all employees at BLU, including processing incoming and outgoing vessels carrying bulk goods, liquid cargo, containers, or general cargo. The group aims to extend the takeover to include 100% of the shares during the next few years. (mk)
