As the first company in western Switzerland, von Bergen has invested in two green, hydrogen-powered trucks, a revolutionary technology that massively reduces CO2 emissions. The transport company has now been awarded this year's "Watt d'Or" energy prize by the Swiss federal office of energy for its commitment to energy-efficient mobility.
After more than 125 years, von Bergen moved its company headquarters from La Chaux-de-Fonds (Le Locle) to Domdidier in the region of La Broye (Canton Fribourg) in January this year.
The company receives a large part of its orders in this canton and its logistics centre has been located there since 2009. (amh)
