Reefer rail service in Spain launched
Medlog, part of MSC, has started a new dedicated reefer rail service for Spain which capitalises on the latest flexible technology for on board power generation.
The first commercial voyage has already taken place, with a transport between Zaragoza and Valencia. The service will soon be extended to Barcelona, according to the company. It is a dedicated reefer rail service, for refrigerated and frozen cargo, connecting food producers in Aragon and north-eastern Spain directly with major markets across the world, via MSC’s global ocean liner network.
The new reefer rail service is expected to operate initially twice a week. Medlog’s new solution has multiple power sources on board to minimise the risk of impact from power outages. (ben)
