RCG buys three Euro Duals
The Swiss leasing company European Loc Pool (ELP) will deliver the three hybrid locomotives in the end of 2024 and in H1/2025 to the Austrian carrier Rail Cargo Group (RCG).
The six-axle hybrid locomotive has a tractive force of 500 kN and capabilities of up to 2.8 MW in diesel mode and 6.2 MW in electric mode. It offers an up to 40% higher loading capacity compared to conventional models.
The three Euro Duals, made by Stadler Rail, will extend the sustainable fleet of RCG and be used particularly for traffic along the German-Austrian axes. They will provide RCG with the necessary flexibility to efficiently respond to the high costs for first and last mile transports, the carrier said. (ben)
