Rail yard in South Louisiana in operation
The new six-track rail yard in St. Charles Parish, USA, is now ready for operation. The facility, located at the US Port of South Louisiana, is designed to accommodate between 250 and 350 rail cars exclusively for Dow Chemical. The rail yard will be used for railcar maintenance and storage.
The project required the installation of a 1,670 sqm two-track railcar storage and maintenance pad and related infrastructure. These include an access road from LA Highway 18, over 8,230 m of track connecting to the rail spur, switches to facilitate “cherry-picking” cars, security fencing along the perimeter of the leased property and lighting.
