Rail module operational in port of Ravenna
The Circle Group has completed the first phase of an innovation project, with the full launch of its ‘Rail Management Platform’, a new module in Ravenna’s ‘Port Community System’ (PCS).
The project, which ran from December 2024 to March 2025, involved pilot stakeholders, including Terminal Container Ravenna (TCR), Docks Cereali, Viglienzone Adriatica, Hannibal (Contship Group) and the Dinazzano Po/Mist network.
The ‘Rail Management Platform’ aims to enhance efficiency by optimising information flows between port terminals, multimodal transport operators, shunting managers and rail companies. The system provides a centralised digital interface to manage real-time data on train movements, aiming to improve coordination and speed up port operations. (js)
