Rail links Apac countries with Volga region
Transcontainer and marine container operator Global Ports - both are part of Delo Group - have launched a new scheduled container rail service.
The new service runs from Nakhodka in Russia’s Far East to Nizhny Novgorod, 400 km east of Moscow. Containers arriving by sea in the Russian port of Vostochny are directly loaded onto the block train. The trains depart every ten days, with travel times of eleven days.
The service will focus on imports from Asia-Pacific countries bound to Russia’s Volga regions. Previously, the cargo was first transported from the Far Eastern terminal to Moscow with further delivery to Nizhny Novgorod and other regions. (ben)
