Protective masks flying into Italy... from China

As part of the efforts to combat Covid-19, a first relief flight with nine pallets of medical equipment landed on Rome's airport FCO at the end of last week. The recipient was the Italian Red Cross that immediately forwarded the material to the government or distributed it on site.

The equipment was sent by the Chinese branch of the Red Cross, and aboard the China Eastern Airlines aircraft were also nine advisors from China to share their experience with the crisis in their own country.

Francesco Rocca, president of the Italian Red Cross: "We cannot solve all our problems with this freighter, but of course it is a concrete and fast response that is activated within 48 hours." (ah)
