Promoting rail-ready sites at the Chicago link
US transport company Omnitraxis is working with the Calumet Area Industrial Commission (CAIC) to launch its rail-ready sites programme at the Chicago Rail Link (CRL).
The first two sites are ideal locations for automotive manufacturing, steel fabricators and finishers, food processing and distribution and building materials suppliers, Omnitrax said.
CRL provides switching and terminal services for over 115 km of track in Chicago and customises intermediate switching services through the Chicago Terminal complex. In addition to serving the Port of Chicago, CRL is the contract switching operator for CSX Intermodal at the Bedford Park intermodal facility. (ben)
