Promoting cargo traffic at Tallinn airport

Maru Ehitus and Airport City have signed a contract for the design and construction of an innovative cargo terminal on the southern side of Tallinn airport. Construction work is scheduled to start in spring 2024 and is planned for completion in summer 2025.

The EUR 8 million facility will have a net area of 5,250 sqm, including 3,800 sqm of warehouse space and 57 loading bays. The partners aim to build a modern logistics centre that meets international standards and thereby helps raise the volume of goods handled at the airport, which, according to ACI Europe, amounted to 7,593 t last year (-22.8% compared to 2022).

Teet Raudsep, chairman of the management board of Airport City: "This is a notable milestone in our broader plans, as the cargo terminal is the first project we’ll be working on as part of the diverse, long-term development of the business park." (ah)
