Port-rail service launched in Sydney

The new train, introduced by DP World, connects the Stockland’s Yennora Intermodal Terminal in the suburb of Sydney with Port Botany. The twice daily port-rail service along DP World’s own line is expected to manage an annual rail capacity of 160,000 20-ft cargo shipping containers and to reduce up to 160 truck trips per day, lowering overall emissions.

The new train will enable the group to provide an integrated supply chain solution in landside operations, contract logistics and freight forwarding. Located around 30 km west of the Sydney central business district, the 700 ha large Stockland’s Yennora Intermodal Terminal is one of the biggest distribution centres in Oceania and has 300,000 sqm of warehouse space.
