Port of Kribi welcomes eco hoppers

The new built deep-water Port of Kribi (Cameroon), Kribi Multipurpose Terminal (KMT), part of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (Ictsi), recently introduced new eco hoppers to handle materials like clinker, gypsum, limestone and petcoke.

With this addition, productivity has increased, handling 17,015 t of clinker in 24 hours, equivalent to a throughput of 709 t per hour.

KMT COO Poul Johansen: "We also embrace the positive impact they have on the safety of our personnel and the environment." Indeed, those eco hoppers can make cargo handling operations safer for both workers and the environment. (lh)
