Port director to step down at the end of 2020

After many years of service as director of the Schweizerischen Rheinhäfen (Port of Switzerland) Hans-Peter Hadorn will step down for reasons of age at the end of 2020. The position will be publicly advertised.

The economist from Berne took over the management of Basel's Rhein port fifteen years ago. Hadorn played a decisive role in the preparations for the merger of the former Rheinschifffahrtsdirektion Basel and the Rheinhäfen Baselland.

After a period of transformation bringing together the various company cultures and creating an independent company, the Port of Switzerland developed into a successful transport hub of national importance under Hadorn's leadership.

After chairman of the supervisory board Benedikt Weiber retired at the end of 2019, a new generation is ready to take over the helm on management level as well. (mw)
