Polish leasing company orders 100 locomotives
Cargounit in Poland has signed an agreement with Siemens Mobility for the purchase of 90 Vectron MS locomotives, 30 of which have already been called up. A second contract was signed for the delivery of ten Smartron locomotives, where the first deliveries are planned for 2025.
With this new order, Cargounit will have a total of 66 Vectrons and 18 Smartrons in its fleet, enhancing sustainable and efficient cross-border rail transport in Europe. Cargounit plans to continue replacing older units with low-emission locomotives in the coming years. While the ordered Vectron MS locomotives will operate in Europe, the Smartrons will run in Germany, Bulgaria, or Romania. (ben)
