Plans for a new rail terminal near Moscow
Transcontainer has founded a new company to build and operate a container terminal in the Domodedovo in the south of the Moscow region.
The Usady Container Terminal will have a capacity of 424,000 teu per year. After the facility is put into operation, a cargo consolidation centre will be formed in Usady to ship products from the European part of the country to the Far East and beyond.
Transcontainer’s board of directors approved the project at the end of July 2023. Construction is scheduled to begin in Q4/2023 and be completed by Q4/2025. Sergei Kiselev, Transcontainer, has been appointed head of Usady Container Terminal. (ben)
