Pharma airport returning to pre-pandemic volumes
Basel-Mulhouse airport plays a strategic role for cargo transport in the trinational logistics cluster, especially so for the pharmaceuticals industry. Cargo handling there increased during the pandemic crisis. In 2024, cargo volumes were still slightly lower than in previous years, but are gradually approaching earlier levels.
Total cargo volume corresponds to 99% of the volume handled in 2019 (104,800 t in 2024; 106,075 t in 2019). 2025 will be a particularly important one for the cargo sector at EuroAirport, with its key cargo terminal celebrating its tenth anniversary.
The modern facility guarantees efficient delivery and cargo-handling processes, as well as consistent temperature control in the range from 15-25°C throughout the hall, which is especially important for the pharmaceuticals industry. (ah)
