Packing parcels in Poznan
The DHL Group has opened a EUR 180 million facility focused on parcel sorting and logistics near Poznan, Poland. Working together on the 32,000 sqm site, DHL E-commerce, DHL Freight, and Post + Parcel Germany sought to create a central hub between Germany and Poland. Dubbed the International Logistics Centre, it will facilitate cross-border activities and access to major retailers.
The hub will also serve as a terminal for DHL Freight’s operations, supporting the business’s network with daily road freight connections, temporary storage, and the consolidation of less-than-truckload shipments.
Post + Parcel Germany will use it as an addition to its domestic shipments. The company plans to achieve the capacity to handle a combined volume of 1 million parcels per day during peak times. (mk)
