Own bio-CNG filling stations for 360 gas trucks

DHL is investing in its own filling station infrastructure for bio-CNG (compressed natural gas) at selected parcel centres for the Post & Parcel Germany division. The climate-neutral fuel made from waste and residual materials is supplied by OG Clean Fuels, which also builds and operates the stations for DHL.

By next year, the company plans to set up a network of eleven filling stations in Germany. Filling stations are already in operation in Greven (North Rhine-Westphalia) and in Osterweddingen (Saxony-Anhalt).

The bio-CNG filling stations will be used to refuel DHL's 170 gas-powered trucks at present and 360 from the end of the year. DHL’s freight partners will also use the filling station for their own CNG trucks. (ben)
