Optimising the airfreight booking process
Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo arm of the Dubai-based carrier Emirates Airlines, has established an API connection with logistics provider DB Schenker.
The host-to-host connection with DB Schenker’s internal booking engine optimises the airfreight booking process, providing agents with direct access to Emirates SkyCargo’s schedules, its standard and contract tariff rates and available capacity, as well as its global network of over 140 destinations on six continents.
Launching first in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the connection will then be rolled out globally, facilitating trade with major markets including Hong Kong, China, Singapore, India, Germany, and the USA.
Initially, the service will enable agents to book general cargo, with the possibility of adding other products from Emirates SkyCargo’s multi-vertical portfolio in the near future. (cj)
