Optimising goods flows on the Rhine Axis
Container hinterland logistics specialist Contargo became a co-owner of the Dutch rail operator Distri Rail on 1 January 2024. Duisport, Contargo and Van Donge & de Roo now each hold a third of the company. The reorganisation is subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities. Distri Rail will be run equally by all three partners and an independent management team.
Duisport had acquired a 50% stake in Distri Rail from Van Donge & de Roo in 2015. The partners believe that Contargo will improve the management of goods flow from Rotterdam via the central logistics hub in Duisburg and the Rhine rail network. (ben)
