Operator selected for railfreight terminal
Intermodal specialist Maritime Transport is to operate the Hams Hall railfreight terminal near Birmingham (UK) under a long-term lease awarded by Associated British Ports (ABP).
Maritime Transport, an ABP customer at the terminal, has been pursuing a wider strategy to transport more cargo by rail. Over the last three years, it has established and developed its intermodal services, and the purpose-built site at Hams Hall offers the opportunity to further expand this part of its business.
ABP and Maritime Transport have agreed that operations in Hams Hall will transfer to Maritime Transport as of 3 July 2022. (ben)
