Online Systemlogistik banking on "Green Cargo"
The general cargo cooperation has introduced a new product, Online Green Cargo. For each Green Cargo consignment transported, 50 cents go to a climate project to reduce CO2. The maximum delivery time of 72 hours is designed to guarantee that utilisation and stop density are particularly high and thus eco-friendly.
Six months after the start of the pilot phase at the beginning of 2023, the share of Green Cargo consignments in the total shipment volume was about 12% and 83 of the current 96 OSL partners have already booked the product.
The longer delivery time has an equally positive effect on both ecology and economy. In order to meet deadlines for urgent shipments, more vehicles have to be on the road. But many shipments are not time sensitive. The new option allows companies to schedule their transports flexibly and cost effectively.
OSL goes even further: the same price applies for the environmental product with 72 hours delivery time as for the OSL standard product " Speed Cargo" with 24-48 hours.
