Norrköping: a new train to Europe
More alternatives for sustainable transports between Europe and Norrköping will become available in January 2024. The German logistics network Kombiverkehr is launching a new train route connecting the Swedish port to Europe via Malmö. The intermodal service allows to shift a larger portion of goods from the roads to rail and sea.
On the new route, continuous intermodal services with up to 80% CO2 savings will be operated to German cities like Duisburg and Ludwigshafen or to Barcelona in Spain, among other destinations.
Trains will depart regularly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from Norrköping and will transport containers, tank containers and trailers. (ben)
