Next president for Logistikcluster Basel nominated
The Logistics Cluster Region Basel has chosen its next president. From January 2024 on, Gian Carlo Alessi will lead the initiative backed by the industry and the Basel Chamber of Commerce (HKBB). The Logistics Cluster Region Basel is a private public partnership based in Basel, the "capital of Swiss logistics". The cluster was first founded in 2011 and extended regularly over several four-year periods.
Alessi joined Lamprecht Pharma Logistics (LPL) as managing director in June 2021 after having headed the freight department at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse (EAP) since 2012. Before that, he worked for Air France and KLM Cargo, Switzerland.
Alessi, whose nickname is "Gian Cargo" due to his devotion to the industry, will also remain president of the IG Air Cargo Switzerland's regional, a board member of Aerosuisse and vice president of the Propeller Club, Port of Basel. (cd)
