Newcold adds to Polish cold chain
Newcold, a cold storage specialist based in Breda (Netherlands), is doubling its cold chain capacity in Poland with the completion of its new warehouse in Kutno. At the automated hub, the company has now expanded to over 112,000 pallet positions to cater to growing demand from Polish food producers and enhance its food logistics and temperature-controlled storage services.
With automated systems in place, Newcold can streamline operations and minimise energy consumption. Solar panels and electric trailers will also reduce the dependence on fossil fuels. Kutno is located just over 150 km away from Warsaw, giving it access to Poland’s major transport routes.
As Poland is an important location for European food logistics, the company is looking to open an additional hub in Nowy Modlin next year. This will further strengthen its network of 18 warehouses in ten countries. (mk)
