New weekly train runs from China to Belarus
RZD Logistics organised the rail transport of Geely knock-down kits from China to the JV car manufacturer BelGee’s assembly factory in Belarus in about 14 days.
The first four container trains set off in accordance with a schedule specially developed for this project, taking a direct route from Chengdu (China) to Zhodino (Belarus). They passed through Mongolia via the Zamyn-Uud border crossing and Russia via the Naushki border crossing and entered Belarus at Krasnoye.
A total of 50 container trains with delivery times of around 14 days are planned for 2019, one train a week. Currently RZD Logistics is preparing similar shipments to Belarus from other Geely factories in China. (ben)
