New UK-EU intermodal service
On 12 January 2021, Hannibal, an affiliate of Conship Italia, will activate three additional round trips between Melzo (Italy) and Rotterdam (Netherlands), connecting Rail Hub Milano with the Rotterdam Botlek C.ro terminal.
This new train service joins the already existing Milan-Rotterdam RSC connection, which currently runs seven round trips per week between Melzo's Rail Hub Milano and Rotterdam's Rail Service Centre terminal. The service will accommodate P400 semi-trailers.
The new connection with Rotterdam Botlek will offer customers the opportunity to reach a terminal with daily direct boarding for short sea shipping to and from the UK and multiple weekly departures to and from Ireland and Portugal, without the need for transfers via truck between the railway terminal and the maritime terminal of embarkation / disembarkation.
