New Trieste-Patras-Ambarli service
Grimaldi Group is expanding its Trieste-Ambarli ro-ro service by adding a new port of call at Patras, Greece, starting from 23 October. This move will strengthen connections between Italy, Greece, and Turkey, offering two weekly departures from Trieste, Patras, and Ambarli.
The service will be operated by the eco-friendly hybrid vessels “Eco Mediterranea” and “Eco Malta”, each with a capacity of over 500 trailers. These vessels can reduce CO2 emissions by half per cargo unit and eliminate them completely during port stays.
The addition of Patras enhances Grimaldi’s extensive “motorways of the sea network”, improving the flow of rolling freight between northern Italy, Greece, and Turkey, and offering further connections via Venice and Bari. (pb)
