New RTG for Manila
Eight new hybrid rubber-tired gantries (RTG) were recently delivered to the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT), the flagship of the Filipino terminal and port operator International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI).
Manufactured in Japan by Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (MES), the Mitsui Li-ion Hybrid RTGs are expected to reduce emissions by more than 50% compared to the previous RTGs. ICTSI won the 25 + 25 years concession to operate the MICT in an international tender in 1988. (cd)
