New platform for Tanzania's businesses
DP World is launching its wholesale e-commerce platform dubuy.com in Tanzania. The online marketplace will attempt to give Tanzanian businesses more opportunities to buy wholesale products across a variety of categories both domestically and abroad - and a broader access to international markets.
This involves DP World's physical infrastructure – which includes the Port of Berbera in Somaliland – to solve several key challenges facing the growth of e-commerce in Africa.
In 2021, the latest expansion of the platform was launched in Kenya and Rwanda, creating an online business community of more than 1,500 active merchants. The move into East Africa includes the partnership with the chamber of commerce of Tanzania. (sh)
