New digital tool for the port of Strasbourg

Strasbourg now relies on Vigsiesip to organise and administer ship stopovers. The digital port information system was developed by Bordeaux Port Atlantique and is already deployed in 15 major maritime ports (MPGs) and French decentralised ports.

However, the use of the programme in the autonomous port of Strasbourg (PAS) is a first for a river port. The Vigiesip module was specifically redesigned for SAP and takes into account the scheduling of bulk, container and passenger traffic on the river as well customs clearance formalities. It is available in three languages (French, English and German).

Since 1 January 2019, the application facilitates the declaration of port dues. At the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, the inland shipping companies and cruise ship operators were invited to half-day training courses. They were also asked to sign an agreement authorising the use of the programme. Today, a hundred companies deploy the Vigiesip service for SAP. (kd)
