New contracts for "K" Line
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ("K" Line) has announced two new contracts, a 15-year long-term charter agreement with Mitsubishi Corporation subsidiary Diamond Gas International (DGI), and a shipbuilding contract with Samsung Heavy Industries (Samsung) for a 174,000 cbm LNG carrier.
The first contract can be extended up to ten additional years: it is the first long-term time charter contract between DGI and "K" Line involving a newly built vessel equipped with an ME-GA 1 engine.
"K" Line was able to win these contracts due to its experience in supervising vessel construction, its high-quality ship management, and its ability to offer the highest level of safety in its commercially optimised operations. The new vessel will also help reduce environmental impact. (lh)
