Network improves ETA
Cargoline is adding ETA (estimated time of arrival) to its customer services. This enables the German general cargo cooperation to narrow a consignment's expected delivery time down to a two-hour window.
Furthermore, the recipient can now upload a map showing the position of the consignment during the journey. This visualisation also indicates how many stops the delivery vehicle is still away from the recipient's address.
As a basis for calculating ETA, the IT system continuously supplies relevant data such as the waiting time at previous stops or changes of the route. A software combines these data with statistics of previous deliveries and adds basic vehicle parameters, such as the average speed. (ben)
