Müller and the ice cube

The Luxembourg-based European infrastructure fund "Cube Infrastructure" is buying 70% of the shares in Müller Logistik in Wiener Neudorf, a specialist for the transport for temperature-controlled cargo.

The previous sole owner, Fritz Müller, will retain 30% of the shares and continue to serve as managing director of the company. The deal is expected to be closed by the end of November this year. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The Müller Transporte Group, headquartered in Wiener Neudorf, has grown in recent years: in 2021, for example, the company opened a large logistics centre with its own refrigerated warehouses and storage facilities. It acquired the regional transport companies Fedl (Styria) and Ebner (Salzburg) in 2014 and 2019, respectively.

With the Müller Frisch branch, the company has been developing its own fresh food logistics services for food retailers since 2019. The group says that it currently employs 700 people at six locations in Austria and neighbouring countries and operates a fleet of more than 375 trucks as well as its own refrigerated warehouses and storage facilities. Müller Transporte also reported that its annual turnover for the financial year ending June 2022 amounted to more than EUR 100 million. (sh)
