MSC continues collecting
According to Clarksons, the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) expects the shipping boom to continue and has therefore acquired another five container vessels from different carriers, after having added around 60 second-hand units to its fleet in the course of the last twelve months. Among these ships are the 2,500 teu “Bomar Resolve” and the 2,500 teu “Spring Mas”.
Clarksons also reported that MSC recently bought the German 2,500 teu vessel “Nordbaltic”, the 4,250 teu “Alabama” and the 4,400 teu “Schubert”. With the more defensive line Maersk is taking, MSC will deploy the largest global fleet in due course. (cd)
