More than ever before
142 hydrogen refuelling stations went into operation worldwide in 2021, – setting a new record. 37 hydrogen stations were opened in Europe, 89 in Asia and thirteen in North America, according to an annual assessment.
Meanwhile, hydrogen refuelling is possible in 33 countries. At the end of 2021, 685 hydrogen refuelling stations were in operation worldwide. The sites of all these facilities are shown on an interactive map.
Concrete plans are already in place for 252 additional refuelling station locations. Particularly noteworthy are Spain and New Zealand, both having announced concrete locations for several new stations for the first time. Hungary and Slovenia were newly added to the list of countries offering hydrogen refuelling facilities. (ben)
